Flying through the main lobby and into the elevator, Amelia pressed the button for the third floor. The elevator doors seemed to move at a snail's pace as they slowly inched their way toward one another. "C'mon!" Amelia grumbled as she looked at her watch and tapped her foot.

At the second floor, the elevator lurched to a stop. "Really?! Dammit," she declared in frustration. The elevator doors opened and Owen, his eyes glued on an iPad, stepped on.

At first he did not see her in the corner. She cleared her throat and softly offered, "Good morning. Something's sure got your attention."

Surprised, Owen chuckled lightly as he looked up to make eye contact. "Yeah, complicated case." Once his eyes met hers, he couldn't look away.

After a moment of awkward silence, Owen continued, "So... uhh... How's your day so far?" He didn't know why he asked such a basic question. It was the first sentence that occurred to him and his main interest was conversing with her as long as possible.

With a sigh, Amelia admitted, "Actually, it's been pretty rotten." Not holding back, she added, "Meredith and I... I dunno. We don't seem to really get one another. And traffic today..."

Owen's eyes softened as he listened to her lyrical voice. He pushed the stop button in the elevator and offered in a husky voice, "Maybe I can turn your day around." He leaned into her and kissed her passionately, thrilled to note that she returned the sentiment.

He pressed the elevator button as they kissed and the indicator sounded as they reached the third floor. As the doors opened, he stepped off the elevator and looked over his shoulder. With a wink and a coy grin, he whispered, "Have a great day, Dr. Shepherd."
