This was inspired by Yume Koko's Picture perfect. Thx for the idea, and kudos ona well written story.
Yuki sat looking at kyo, trying to decide what to draw that made a person think kyo. He sighed and picked up his pencil.
The class was art, the assignment; draw the person next to you as a portrait or as a representation. He just didn't know how to draw something so obviously Kyo. That was when inspiration struck him upside the head, figuratively speaking. He began to draw.
one half hour later
the large sheet of paper was dominated by a fire. But on closer inspection, a cat looked out from the orange flames, its paws snatching at something, and a collar of beads around its neck. He turned it in, and smiled as he sat back down.
kyo's hour.
He had to draw that damned rat! He was angrily brushing his paper with the pastel, in a gray, when a thought occurred. He began to sketch, shade, and color.
end of class
Handing the finished drawing to the sensei, he left. Laying the two portraits on the desk, he smiled. Kyo's looked like a gray storm cloud, but on a closer inspection, a small mouse took form, its ears on the edge, its body running, and its tail curled as the edge of the cloud. The teacher grinned as he looked at them, complete opposites, yet in perfect harmony. He pulled out a camera. And snapped a picture, and added it to the two boys portfolios. Sliding the pictures back into the folder, he go back to grading.
