A ship is a boat, right?
"Niiiiiick, hurry up, it is about to start." Sara said practically jumping up and down while she waited for Nick to open up the door to his or actually their apartment. As soon as he managed to open it, Sara rushed inside and turned the television on.
Nick was glad Sara finally found an interest outside forensics, although he wasn't sure a soap which dealt with the private lifes of crime scene investigators really qualified as such.
He didn't really understand, however, why she was in such a rush to watch an episode she had already seen at least ten times before and on top of that he had given her the DVD box for Christmas, which included today's episode.
At first he thought it was cute how she could get so excited about a television show, but he wasn't amused by the habit she just recently picked up, namely poking him in the side to wake him up to tell him what was going to happen in episodes which hadn't been aired yet.
The other day he had made a big mistake (according to her of course) and she had been ticked off the entire day. He had tried to watch an episode with her, just to humor her, and then at the end he had made the big mistake to say that finally the pretty brown haired girl decided to ask her supervisor out for diner. He had been pretty pleased with himself that he had managed to pick up on the storyline until Sara had turned to him and told him that it wasn't her ship. He had proceeded to say that he didn't realize the story included a boat somewhere and that had resulted in Sara giving him her infamous glare.
Through some research on the internet he had finally found out that Sara had meant she didn't want the supervisor and the pretty brown haired girl to get together, but she was rooting for some well built guy to hook up with the girl.
He had decided to say something intelligent today if you could say something intelligent about a soap, because he wasn't planning to sleep on the couch again.
Sitting down next to her, he asked her: "So when do you think your favorite characters will get together?"
Her answer surprised him as she was so intensely, bordering on obsessively, hoping they would get together.
"Probably never, but I said that about you and me as well, but after four years we also finally decided to do something more than just flirt with each other."
Only then it occurred to him that the situation in the soap was quite similar to the situation they were in just a couple of months ago and all of a sudden the soap became much more interesting to him.
Later that day.....
"Niiiiick, will you come to bed already, that DVD box isn't going anywhere." Sara called out from the bedroom.
