Pick Up You Bastards
A/N: My latest fic! Thanks to Lousie for beta reading! This is the story of Titanic like shaken up!
Chapter 1:
Cal's POV
Titanic, the largest and most luxurious ship in the whole world, she stood before me. I was incredibly impressed by it. She was black, with a white bit with all the rooms in it, then there were the four funnels, all billowing smoke as the ship prepared to leave Southampton. By me stood Lovejoy, my man servant, me and him had a lot of history together, in fact you could nearly say that we were in a relationship, but it had to be kept a secret. I remember the day we first kissed, I was only fifteen, he had been my manservant for a month and we just couldn't keep our eyes off each other. My father, Nathan, said that I should sail on the Titanic to look for a good woman to marry, he didn't know that I had already found the person I loved.
"It doesn't look any bigger than the Lusitania!" I heard a young female voice say,
I walked forward and Lovejoy followed me, then I saw her, standing with a hand on her hip, pointing at the ship, a young lady with flowing fiery hair. She was standing with an older woman.
"Now, now, Rose," the older woman said, wagging a finger, "you can't say that sort of thing, it is not ladylike."
"Of course, mother," the young lady who I now knew was called Rose replied.
I turned to Lovejoy, "We'd better get on the ship,"
He winked at me, I knew that he couldn't wait until he had carried all the suitcases to my stateroom and we could be alone together, even if it was just for a while. Lovejoy went on ahead, I held back and walked over to Rose and her mother. Rose was wearing a big purple hat, which she had to support with one hand, her dress was white and framed her really good figure, her mother was dressed very well as well.
"Hello," I said, bowing to them both, "My name is Caledon Hockley."
They both looked me up and down; I knew that I was impressing them.
"I am Ruth Dewitt Bukater and this is my daughter, Rose, we both have the same surname." The mother said, "she's not married, you know."
I smiled at them both, "I will make sure to remember that."
Then we all walked up the gangway to the ship, Lovejoy would have been already away, preparing my room for my arrival, so I could take my time and chat with the two ladies.
"So what is it that you do, Mr Hockley?" Rose asked,
"Please, call me Cal," I replied with a seductive smile, "I'm a banker,"
"Oh," smiled Ruth, "a very well-paid job!"
"It is indeed, ladies," I winked, "it is indeed."
Rose set her hand on the crook of my elbow, her big green eyes looking up at me.
"Will you walk me to the ship?" she smiled, her white teeth, so perfectly lined up were showing between lips as rosy as her name would suggest.
I nodded, we walked up to the ship that was in front of us, I saw the way that Rose was looking at me, the way her mother was looking at me also, the desire in their eyes, they would want me and I would make them love me.
A/N: Review! This is going to get VERY exciting!
