Chapter 1

"Wait, hold on, wait for me," cried Kagome as she ran along side the train station. The train she was supposed to be on was starting to move, without her on it.

Kagome stopped and yelled, "Stop the train," as loud as she could. Then feeling silly, she sighed, of course the train wasn't going to stop just because she yelled at it. She dropped her bags on the concrete of the station and gave an exasperated and disappointed noise, so much for making it to the airport in time. She should have just listened to her family and let them drive her there.

The wind started to blow at her yellow sun dress that went well with her light blue mini jacket with the short sleeves. The wind was also blowing her light blue straw hat which she held onto with one of her now available hands.

Then a peculiar thing happened, the train suddenly stopped. Kagome's mouth fell open and she blinked in disbelief.

A man in a train worker suit popped his head out of the back train door and stared right at Kagome.

"Are you supposed to be on this train?" he asked with a strange look.

When Kagome finally processed what he was saying from the shock she was in, she nodded slowly.

"Well come on then, we haven't got all day," the worker yelled, motioning towards the train with his head.

Kagome quickly picked up her luggage and ran towards the train. The train worker stepped aside so that she could get in before getting back in himself. There weren't too many available seats on the train, but Kagome happened to find an empty compartment to herself. She wasn't much in the mood to be social with anyone she didn't know at the moment. She had far too many things to think about anyway.

First she wondered how she was going to like her new school in a new country. It wasn't that she couldn't find a good school where she was from, she just knew that she wouldn't be able to concentrate on her studies if she had so many things to disrupt her studies. If she was far from her family, friends and unfortunately the person she loved, maybe she could make wonderful grades.

It might not make much sense why Kagome would give up all of what she had before, but to her this was just one of those things she had to do, that she needed to do for herself. She wanted to go to college someday.

Kagome began shuffling through her bag she had kept with her and pulled out something precious to her. It was a locket that she had put two pictures in. The picture on the left was of her family, her mother, grandfather and younger brother, Souta. She smiled as she stared at their smiling faces. Then she looked over at the one on the right. It was a picture of her and Inuyasha and beside them their friends Miroku, Sango, Kirara and Shippo.

Kagome sighed as she focused on her and Inuyasha, her smile had turned into a sad one, the person she missed the most was now looking at her with those golden eyes.

Was she really doing the right thing?

Kagome sighed, closed the locket and covered it with her hands before staring out the window. Of course she was doing the right thing and after all, she deserved this for herself.

It was like a new adventure waiting for her.
