A fun little bit I came up with on St. Patrick's Day this year. Review if you like it! Or even if you didn't, I really don't care :D.

Disclaimer: I only own the cadet who teaches Spock about the holiday. Everything else is Mr. Roddenberry's.

"Excuse me? What was that for?" the young Vulcan cadet inquired of his classmate.

She giggled. She couldn't help it, he was just so cute when he didn't understand human customs. He raised one eyebrow at her reaction.

"It's Saint Patrick's Day, Spock! If you don't wear green people will pinch you!" she told him.

"Indeed?" both his eyebrows were raised now. "Why is that?"

"St. Patrick's Day is an old Irish holiday celebrating their patron saint."

"Oh? I infer you are Irish, then? And why do people pinch you if you don't wear green?" he asked.

"No, I'm not Irish, I just like the holiday. Green is Ireland's color...although I don't know why we pinch people if they don't wear it..." she frowned, then laughed. "I could tickle you instead, if you prefer," she suggested.

"Indeed not. The whole affair appears quite illogical to me," he informed her.

"Well, it mostly is," she agreed. "The holiday has mostly evolved into an excuse to drink, wear green and pinch people."

"Why would anyone need an excuse to wear a certain color?" he asked.

"Perhaps those who are forced to adhere to a strict uniform for the rest of the year," she winked at him. His eyebrows raised further.

"Most illogical indeed. Why participate in such a holiday with no reason?"

"Because, Spock, it's fun!" Slightly exasperated, she threw her hands in the air and walked away. Spock stared after her in confusion.

"Fun?" he wondered.
