When you turn on the screen, two blips appear. They slowly grow and grow, until you see two chibis, one red headed and one in a hat. And you name one "Hero" and the other "Rival."
But what you don't realize is that you have given each the wrong name, the redhead does not wish to be just the rival, only appearing once or twice and then gone for good. And the Hero does not want him to vanish.
Hero wants Rival to stay.
But you do not realize this, so you keep playing your game, forcing Hero one way and then the next and watching Rival run around on his preset tracks and you are oh so very amused.
Until the game begins to bore you since you have completed it all and Hero is now obsolete and Rival no longer appears on his preset tracks, so you restart the game and again turn poor, poor Hero into a puppet and do nothing to pull Rival off his preset tracks until once again it is obsolete and you are bored.
And you discard the game and Hero and Rival are finally alone together in their little game world and they kiss and smile and are oh so very relieved that you are gone.
Until another game comes out and you tear them apart once more and put Rival on new preset rails and pull and push Hero in new places and new adventures until again you are sick of the tiny game world and are bored and throw them away again like garbage, where they can finally be alone together and finally smile in a non-preset way.
But then the cycle begins again.
