Another original Thomas story, this time it's "Be My Valentine" with added lines by tate310. Enjoy and comment.
It was a moonlit night on the Island of Sodor. All the engines had arrived back at Tidmouth Sheds.
James however, was nervous. Tomorrow's was Valentine's Day, and James didn't have a valentine.
"I'm sure you'll find one." said Thomas kindly.
But James didn't know who to ask.
The next day, Sir Topham Hatt came to see James.
"James, you are to work with Emily today." he said.
James was happy. Emily was sure to be his valentine.
But when James arrived at the docks. Emily wasn't happy to see James.
"What are you doing here?" asked Emily.
"Sir Topham Hatt told me to work with you today." said James.
Emily groaned.
"But all you do is boast about your shiny red paint," said Emily.
"No I don't!" grunted James.
Just then, the dock manager came to see them.
"I need you two to take crates of fish to the marketplace." he explained.
"Yuck!" said James. "I hate fish."
Emily stared at James, but then, an idea flew into her funnel.
"Why don't I give you a special assignment?" she asked.
"What is it?"
"I was supposed to take the special ocean route today, until Sir Topham Hatt told me to work with you. If your driver agrees, can you do it for me? I'll do the fish in place of you.
James thought for a moment. Emily was sure to be his valentine if he did the ocean route.
"I'll do it!"
Emily was pleased.
So James set off to collect the ocean route passengers.
All throughout the day, James thought all about asking Emily to be her valentine.
But when James returned to Brendam Docks that night, Emily wasn't there.
"Where's Emily?" he asked.
"She's working late tonight." said Cranky.
James was sad. Now he didn't have a valentine.
James rolled sadly into Brendam Docks.
"I don't have a valentine." he weeped sadly. as he began to cry.
Percy felt bad for his best friend.
"I'll be your valentine." said Percy kindly.
James smiled.
"Sure thing!" replied James, pleased that he now had a valentine of his own. "You are the best friend I've ever had!"
"And you're the best friend I've had too!" said Percy.
Everyone was glad.
