It was a beautiful, sunny afternoon. Steven and Connie climbed the hill, glancing at the beautiful sunset. When they arrived at the lighthouse, they put down a sheet, and sat down.
"It's so beautiful, Steven." Connie said in awe "Thanks for inviting me over."
"Heh-heh." The boy replied, avoiding eye contact with her. She was wearing a beautiful red dress, with a white hat "N-nice ou-outfit!"
"Thanks…" she said as she looked away from him, covering her face to hide her blush.
Steven quickly took a sandwich from the basket, quickly eating it out of awkwardness. He wanted to tell her, but what if she…?
No. They're just friends… Right?
…Right?
No. It was time to tell her.
He took a deep breath.
"C-C-Connie…" he stammered "Do you want to… d-dance with me?"
"Of course, Steven." she said with a smile "I'd dance with you any time."
Steven grabbed his phone from the basket, putting on a random song he had.
He grabbed both of her hands, moving his feet to the beat of the music. He spiraled her under his arms. It was beautiful. They were both synchronized, moving like they were one single entity.
Steven took the lead, leaning over Connie. Connie stared at him with starry eyes.
It was time.
He closed his eyes, and kissed her.
At first, Connie was surprised, but after a few seconds, she joined in.
They were kissing for at least a minute when the let go.
Connie's face was bright red. She looked at Steven, not knowing what to say…
"S-Steven, I… didn't know you… liked me this way…"
"I always did." Steven replied, now with more confidence.
"I did… too…"
They both started laughing, hugging each other tightly.
…
The sun has nearly disappeared under the ocean. Steven and Connie were on the sheet, glancing at the majestic sundown. They cuddled very closely to each other, lightly giving each other small kisses from time to time.
"I love you, Connie."
"I love you too."
