Hi people!

So I read a fanfiction the other day and I just had a flash of inspiration.

My other stories will hopefully be updated sometime this week so just hang in there.

I have been having to split my time between school, my penpals and my friends so I've been really busy.

No fear, though. My next chapter of 'Shyness IS NOT ALLOWED IN YOUR VOCABULARY!' is nearly finished.

I don't actually like twilight that much (too cliché) but I love the wolf idea and I love Seth so I couldn't resist.

There will be Cullens in it but it will focus more on Hinata and Ino's relationships with the wolves (hinthint)

Let me know what you think:)

The last thing Hinata remembered was sparing with Ino, a large flash of light and then darkness. She groggily opened her eyes and gave a startled gasp to what she saw.

It wasn't the trees that had caused the gasp, although they were also very strange, it was more the rather large wolves all gathered in a row about ten metres away from her. They weren't normal wolves, that was certain, but they weren't summons either. Trying to figure out the enigma in front of her would have been bad enough without the splitting headache currently demanding her attention.

Hinata didn't get headaches. Ever.

She reached into her pouch for a painkiller, all the while discretely checking her kunai, shuriken and senbon supply. Almost full; she didn't really use weapons much in friendly spars between comrades, preferring to use her chakra-covered hands to inflict the damage. That had been an unintentionally smart move for today, she thought.

With all of the grace and confidence that a future clan head should possess, she rose to her feet and scanned the wolves in front of her as though they were enemy shinobi.

Looking at them one at a time, Hinata thought they just appeared slightly worried, perhaps for her, maybe? Despite this, Hinata didn't let here guard down; looks, even with animals, could be deceiving after all. She continued her scrutiny until her eyes came to rest upon a particular wolf. For some reason her eyes softened when she caught the animal's gaze and she felt a distinct tug at her heart which she couldn't quite explain.

She subtly sniffed at the air, trying to catch a hint of bloodlust. Her time with Kiba had sharpened her nose, although his was by far still superior. Regardless, she knew the scent of bloodlust, and there was none with these wolves.

One slowly approached her and she recognised it immediately for the wolf whom she felt connected to in an odd sense. It bowed its head in a sign of… Greeting? Respect? Hinata didn't know for certain, but nevertheless she returned the bow and watched as it gradually grew closure.

Without her own consent, her hand reached out towards the wolf and she petted its fur. Similar to Akamaru, she thought, and yet completely different at the same time. An oxymoron wrapped up in an enigma…Her brain hurt too much to even contemplate that thought and she groaned out loud before she could stop herself.

The wolf's head whipped up and it seemed to look at her with eyes filled with concern. Hinata felt an odd need to comfort the wolf. "It's only a headache." She told it in her naturally soft-spoken voice which held tones of clarity and a subtle authority.

Looking at the wolf, it didn't seem too convinced. It darted its large eyes towards a small cut on her arm that Hinata hadn't even noticed before now. She laughed slightly when she saw the wolf staring into her eyes, looking like it was expecting an answer to its unspoken question. "I'm fine, really. I've had worse."

The wolf didn't look too pleased at that comment.

She was about to argue again about how she was fine when two tall, tanned and half-dressed males came out of the foliage. Hinata narrowed her eyes when she noticed two of the wolves were missing but didn't say anything on the subject. Keeping a portion of her mind on the alert for danger, Hinata directed her attention in the direction of the two young men walking towards her.

"Hello." She greeted. It wasn't much, but it was all she was offering until she had an idea of these stranger's intentions.

One man stood taller than the other, taking on the posture of a leader. "Hello." The man returned the greeting with a monotonous tone. "I'm Sam Uley and this is Jacob Black." There was no change in intonation; no signs that implied he was lying.

"Nice to meet you, Uley-san, Black-san. I am Hinata Hyuga." Hinata inwardly debated offering the man her hand to shake. She didn't want to get any closer than necessary, but her damn polite nature won over.

Uley-san shook her hand and Hinata regarded him curiously. His skin was hot; hotter a human's should be.

"Such strange honorifics." Uley-san commented. "Please, first names are fine."

Hinata nodded but wondered why Ule-Sam was unfamiliar with her customs. She'd never met anyone who didn't use the same customs as her, and that worried her slightly. Just where was she?

"Where are you from?" Jacob asked.

Hinata frowned and narrowed her eyes at the men in front of her. She was wearing her Konoha forehead protector around her neck. Everyone knew the symbol for Konoha, even civilians, so why was it that these people didn't?

"Konoha." She said as waited for a reaction. There was none.

Not even the slightest clench of a jaw or the narrowing of eyes; they seemed to have genuinely not heard of Konoha. "Where am I?" She asked.

"Forks." Sam answered.

"I haven't heard of Forks." Hinata admitted.

"You appeared out of thin air. How did you get here?" Jacob questioned.

"I fell out of thin air?" Jacob nodded. Hinata didn't know what to say. How could she explain falling out of thin air when even she didn't know how she got to this place? "I don't know how I got here. My friend and I were talking," Sparing, she thought, "and then there was a flash of light."

Hinata looked around again. She was worried and unsure of what to do next, but she didn't let that show on her face or in her posture. She was a Hyuga; she held herself with pride and, after many years, had perfected the intimidating yet blank façade, although she only used that when she needed to; this was a very delicate situation and it wouldn't do to lose her marbles right now.

The men regarded her with two very different expressions. Sam, the unofficial leader, looked suspicious and anxious, while Jacob just looked confused. He looked over at Sam and then looked at the sandy coloured wolf that had caught Hinata's attention. Jacob's expression softened while Sam seemed to come to a decision. "We'll take you to our reservation. You can stay there until we figure out what to do."

Hinata considered his offer. She wanted to go, but then another thought struck her mind; where was Ino? Surely she would be in this strange place to. Hinata didn't know where to start looking for her and she couldn't go with these strangers; they may have had alternative motives to why they were inviting her into their home.

She opened her mouth to politely turn down Sam's invitation, but before the words could leave her mouth, the sandy wolf whined loudly. She looked at it and saw the pleading in its eyes. Hinata didn't know why it wanted her to go with them back to the 'reservation' but she couldn't say no to it. She had a soft spot for animals, but this was something else. Something Hinata wasn't sure was a bad or good thing.

"Alright." She agreed in the end. A little voice in her head – one she liked to think was the less biased part of her – assured her that the wolf wouldn't let any harm come to her.

Almost immediately they set off. Hinata took note of the direction they were heading in. Four hundred steps in the east…three hundred in the north-east...

While she was doing this, the wolf was plodding along beside her with a spring in its steps. It glanced at her from time to time, almost like it was worried she would disappear. Hinata could admit it was a fairly believable theory, considering she had just appeared out of thin air not an hour ago. She thought back to her current situation and her spirits plummeted.

The wolf nuzzled its head against her hand.

Hinata looked at it questioningly but some small part of her knew it was trying to comfort her. Smiling gratefully at the wolf, whom eyes twinkled in response, she pushed her thoughts down in favour of taking in her surroundings better. Any other day she would have activated her byakugan, but she knew today she couldn't.

These people hadn't heard of Konoha so they probably hadn't heard of the byakugan or what it could do. Most likely they hadn't heard of ninja either. She would have to be very cautious in this strange place…

How was it? I'm slightly apprehensive about this one...
