Darkness

It was dark around her. Nothing but darkness and the cold wind. The ground was hard and cold beneath her and the air was damp from the seawater. Again and again waves crashed against the rocks and sometimes even washed over her cold body. Her dress and hair was completely wet and she froze. Every tiny part of her body seemed to be broken. The pain was incredible and she could hardly stay awake. The pain was worst in her back. There it felt like someone had cut it open and tore parts of her flesh out. She glanced behind herself and cried out aloud, when she saw her broken and torn wings lying useless behind her body. She could not move them an no matter how hard she tried to do so, it only hurt more and more.

Then she suddenly realized that he had nearly killed her. She was lucky to be still alive. But she would not stay alive any longer, if no one would come and rescue her in the next few minutes. Blood ran from all the deep wounds she had and with every drop that left her body she felt weaker and weaker. She already did not see clear anymore and her consciousness left her bit by bit, drop by drop.

Suddenly she heard the voices of two men. She saw their blurred silhouettes approaching. They both wore completely black clothes. Both of them had very pale skin. One of them had black hair, while the other one had blond, nearly white hair.

"There she is!", shouted the black haired man. "Quick!" Both men came running towards her and knelt down beside her.

"She's weak, Severus, really weak.", the blonde whispered afraid. "We have to take her away from here.", he went on.

"I'll take her to Hogwarts with me. She'll be safe there.", the black haired answered.

"Let's hurry up, before he comes back here!", warned the blonde.

By now she heard their voices only like whispers and shortly after that she finally lost her consciousness completely.

When she woke up again she laid in a bed and her wounds were aided. But something was missing. Something really important, something, that meant her life. She had no wings. Immediately she panicked and began to scream like someone would kill her right now.

"Shhh. Calm down. It's okay." She looked up into the eyes of the black haired man who had rescued her.

"Where… where am I? And who are you? And what… what did you…", she asked him confused.

"Shhh. You're save here. Lucius and I found you and brought you here.", he said with a calm, deep voice.

"Why are you?" She asked shyly and in a low voice.

"Professor Severus Snape.", he introduced himself.

"Where are my wings?", she cried.

He sighed heavily. "I fear we had to cut them off.", he gave her a sad look.

"WHAT?!", she screamed in horror. "You took everything from me with doing this! Who do you think you are! How dare you take my wings from me!?", she screamed weeping.

"Hush. They will grow again.", he tried to calm her. "And anyway… you… fell…", he continued.

"Yes. I fell. I fell, because he attacked me and wanted to kill me!", she cried really upset.

"Who exactly are you again, Sweet?" He gave her an asking look.

"I'm Laila.", she answered.

"Laila?" Snape seemed to be confused.

"Lucifer's fiancée."

"Ah right. The fiancée. Now I know. What happened that he wants to kill you?"

"I loved him. I gave him everything. I was his and his alone. And he… He betrayed me again and again. Not even with other angels or with purebloods or half bloods, but with Muggles and Mudbloods! And now I just want to get away from him. I want him dead!", she stated.

"You have to hide from him. At least until you have back your wings. Otherwise you won't have the tiniest chance against him.", he determined.

She sighed: "I know. And what now?"

"You will hide here and pretend you are a pureblood witch whose parents died a few weeks ago."

"You want me to pretend I'm one of your students here in Hogwarts?" She gave him an astonished look.

"Yes. Year six. Slytherin. It's perfectly save. Believe me." A serious look laid in his eyes.

"How do I know I can trust you or anyone else here?"

"See… You have no choice, Sweet. Trust us or go out there and get killed by your fiancée."

She recognized he was right. She had no choice but hiding here. She was hurt and had no wings anymore. How should she be able to fight, then? Obviously Hogwarts was her only chance to stay alive long enough to have a realistic chance against Lucifer.
