Leo belongs to Nickelodeon, Whitney belongs to BerryBreezer.
It was December 23rd and New York was covered in a thick layer of snow and a piercing cold air swept through the city, but that didn't bring down anyone's high spirits. Under the city, in the lair that five turtles and a rat called home, it was even colder than above, but thanks to the genius of one purple banded turtle named Donatello, they had heaters in every room of the lair, some larger rooms contained two, so that they were able to survive happily throughout the winter season.
The lair was surprisingly quiet given the time of year. Master Splinter was in his room mediating, as usual and Leonardo had decided to join him, while Donnie was in his lab working on what would be everyone's christmas presents, Mikey and Raph were out shopping and Whitney, she was sat in her room pondering what she could get Leo for Christmas.
It was becoming a real problem for her, she had presents for everyone in the family, even Klunk, but not for Leonardo, her own boyfriend, and she couldn't think of something to get him that he didn't already have or someone else had got for him. She only had two days left and was beginning to panic, she couldn't just not give Leo a present, that would be horrible.
Deciding that she wasn't going to get anywhere with this on her own, she made her way downstairs to the lab and knocked on the door.
"Hang on a sec!" Donnie called out and there were a few clashes and clangs before a locked was turned and Donnie opened the door. "Hey Whitney, can I help you?"
"Yes, I really, really need your help!"
"With what?"
"I have no idea what to get Leo for Christmas!" she exclaimed and Donnie laughed at her until her glare made him stop. "It's not funny, Christmas is literally around the corner and I can't not get him anything, what did you get him?"
"I'm not going to tell you, you'd probably steal my idea and get him the same thing."
"How dare you say that." Whitney said, acting offended. "But seriously Donnie, I need help."
"Can't you get him something that he needs, is he running low on any candles or that incense he likes?"
"I don't want to get him something like that, I want to get him something nice and unexpected, not something because he needs it."
"You're being awfully picky for someone who seems to have no other options."
"Donnie, please, do you have any idea what I might be able to get Leo for Christmas?"
"Trust me it was hard enough to find something for me to get Leo for Christmas, I don't think I'll be of much help, neither will Raph and Mikey, I think they're doing a joint present for him this year."
"Ugh, thanks anyway Donnie." she said and turned away, as he shut and locked his door so that he could more than likely go back to his christmas presents. The only person that would be able to help her now would be her sensei, Master Splinter. She ran over to the doors to his room and waited until he sensed her.
"Enter." he called out and she slid the doors open and stepped into the room, remembering to close the doors before kneeling in front of the old rat.
"Master Splinter I need your help."
"Concerning what, my daughter?"
"I have no idea what to get Leo for Christmas!" she exclaimed and the corners of Master Splinter's mouth twitched and he smiled.
"And you think that I may be able to help you with that?"
"Yes, you're his father, you raised him, you must know what he likes and what he wants."
"As should his brothers and you, with being his partner for over a year now, you had no problems getting him a present last year if I recall."
"Me and Mikey brought him a present together, I had no idea that year, and this year Raph and Mikey are sharing a present, Casey and April always share theirs, Donnie has his sorted, so Master Splinter, you're my only hopeā¦" she almost begged.
"I will help you Whitney."
"Thank you so, so much."
Christmas rolled around and the small mutant family were gathered in the living area of their home with their human friends, Casey and April. Presents had been exchanged, with the exception of Leo's present from Whitney.
She sat nervously with a medium size, dark blue rectangular box wrapped in a black ribbon in her lap, her green fingers wrapping around the ribbon every few seconds. Master Splinter glanced over at her and smiled and she felt the courage to get up and hand the box to her partner.
"Merry Christmas Leo." she smiled at him and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek before letting him remove the ribbon and open the box.
Inside the box under tissue paper that would keep the items safe from damage were two small daggers, their handles identical to the handles of Leo's katanas.
"Master Splinter gave me the idea to get them for you, they can be embedded into your katanas, Donnie said that he will be more than happy to help you with that, or you can just use them as they are." Whitney babbled, feeling nervous about Leo's reaction to her present.
"Thank you Whitney, I love them." Leo said, standing up and hooking an arm around Whitney's waist so that he could bring her towards him and give her a passionate kiss, although didn't linger for long due to the complaints from his red and orange banded brothers around him. "I love you as well." he grinned at her.
"I love you too Leo, Merry Christmas."
"Merry Christmas."
