INTRO

He looked up for the last time. Stars. Despite it all, the stars still twinkled silently from above. He had always been told that his ancestors lived among the stars. He had never believed it. Until now.

Torches flickered in slow motion, lighting up the courtyard. He could feel the eyes of hundreds of laughing soldiers surrounding him, eyes that knew he had no chance.

"Are you ready dear?"

He smirked as he rose slowly. He turned to face the voice addressing him.

"Why yes, Aunt Azula. I am quite ready."

"Sky… You're smiling. I can't help but wonder why that is. You can't possibly hope to survive."

"And yet there's fear in your eyes. And I know why."
"Oh? And why is that?"

"Because you know the most dangerous enemy… is the one that has nothing left to lose."

One Month Earlier

"Sky! Stagger your stance more! You're off balanced!"

A Smooth and powerful jet of fire came out of Sky's fist.

"That's it!" Zuko let one of his rare smiles touch his lips.

"I don't see why you're so happy." Sky replied grinning. "I've done this drill a thousand times."

"I was just remembering the first time you tried that technique. You nearly gave me a scar on my good side." Sky's grin turned sheepish.

"You've come a long way since then. I think it's time I taught you the move that my Uncle taught me long ago. It's saved my life more times then I'd care to admit. How to deflect lightning."

Sky's eyes widened, than turned curious.

"But father, no one has been able to bend lightning in twenty years!"

Zuko looked at the sun as it dropped below the horizon. His eyes were dark and stormy.

"Though she's locked up in the highest security prison in the fire nation, there is one. Just one."
