Disclaimer: Sadly, I do not own Sweeney Todd. Not even the movie :( but I have the soundtrack so. . . .it's all good.
Sweeney decided to give Mrs. Lovett a break, for once, and went to the grocer himself. The walk was long, the weather somewhat nice, with a perfect breeze. During the walk, Sweeney couldn't help but think about Mrs. Lovett. He just couldn't get her off of his mind. Her smile flashed in his head like a memory that wouldn't go away. It was obvious that Mrs. Lovett loved him, he could see that. But now for the billion quid question - did Sweeney possibly love her back? Yes, he decided, he did.
While on the way to the grocer, Sweeney passed a jewlery shop and decided to buy her a necklace. The one he bought for her had a silver chain and a yin yang sign hanging from it. He'd tell her his newfound feelings when he got back.
However, when he did get bac, he couldn't find Mrs. Lovett anywhere.
"Mrs. Lovett?" he called.
"Over here." Mrs. Lovett responded, weakly. Sweeney found her on the floor behind her counter, blood soaking her dress, a knife sticking out of her chest. One of her pastry knives. Sweeney's eyes widened. He was shocked.
"What happened?" he asked.
"I had a customer -" a cough cut her off. "And -" cough. "I turned around for a second to grab something, then when I turned back around he stabbed me. Sweeney -" cough. "I don't have much time. . ."
"Mrs. Lovett - there is something you must know." Sweeney said. Mrs. Lovett opened her mouth to say something, but Sweeney never heard what she had to say because she slipped away. She never got to hear that Sweeney loved her. Sweeney sobbed as he carefully cradled Mrs. Lovett's body against him, rocking it back and forth. Why did these things always happen to him?

Sweeney woke up screaming. Mrs. Lovett came rushing in.
"Is everything alright? I heard you scream."
"I had the worst nightmare ever!" Sweeney answered running up to Mrs. Lovett. He hugged her tight to him. "I love you, Mrs. Lovett." he said. "I don't want to lose you, either." tears were sliding down his cheeks now. Mrs. Lovett rubbed his back in small, soothing circles. "You were murdered in my dream, I don't want that to happen." Sweeney said.
"Awww." Mrs. Lovett said, she couldn't help it. "You do love me. I love you, too." she smiled then kissed the tears off Sweeney's face. As he kissed her, a tear of happiness slid down Mrs. Lovett's face. Mission accomplished.
