"You know what's been bugging me all day?" Booth asked as he drove away from a crime scene.

"Booth, I'm not a mind reader."

Deciding to ignore her comment he said, "Why would anyone eat a dog willingly?"

Brennan slightly raised her eyebrow at his random question. "Because they find it tastes good," she said slowly, as if she was talking to a five-year old.

"That's just gross, Bones."

"How do you know if it's gross if you've never tried it?" she asked. "The Chinese have been eating dog meat since at least the time of Confucius. If they've been eating it for this long, it must be good."

"I don't care who this Confishis character is, all I care is that he was eating man's best friend."

"It's Confucius. And eating dog isn't that different than eating beef."

"How is eating a dog the same as eating a cow?"

"Cows are worshipped is some cultures," she stated. "It's just like how dogs are a man's best friend, as you put it. You do know that the average dog owner spends 1,071 dollars per year. I don't understand why though. I would much rather spend the money on a cow."

Booth shot her a bemused look. "You want a pet cow? Why? A dog you can play with, a cow just stands there and eats grass all day."

"I don't have time to play with dogs. A cow seems more logical for me, beside they give you milk. Milk gives you yogurt, butter, cheese, and a lot more. And they're very gentle- unlike some dogs."

"So you're a dog hater then?

"I prefer cats actually…"

"Whatever, Bones."

"Hey Booth…"

"What now?"

"Now that I think of it, cows are a lot like Jesus."

Booth tightened his grip on the steering wheel. "Jesus is not a cow."

"Think about it. In Hinduism, cattle are symbolic of abundance, of the sanctity of all life and earth that gives much while asking nothing in return, because of its gentle qualities and production of milk. Bulls in particular, are seen as symbols of selfless duty and religion," Brennan explained. "It's the same thing as Jesus being crucified. It was selfless of him; he gave a lot, and never asked anything in return. And he was always preaching about how precious and sacred life is."

"Jesus is not a cow."

"Fine. If that's what you want to see it as."

"Bones, do me a favour and please talk about something else."

"You're the one who brought it up."
