A/N: This is purely based by the show Wolf's Rain. I might make this the start of a new story. But I'm not sure, haha.
I'll mark this as complete for now, but maybe when I finish Clarindella I'll upload a second chapter... so that might be in July or so ._.
I hope you guys enjoy nonetheless, and REVIEW and tell me what you thought!
DISCLAIMER: I don't own Degrassi or Wolf's Rain.
"E-li."
Struggling, he got up, and began to walk slowly towards her voice. "Where are you, Clare?" He rasped out. He felt her hand reaching out to him and he walked, one foot in front of the other. "You don't have to move," he instructed her.
"Eli…" As he reached her body sprawled on the frozen ground, he fell on his knees and held on to her. "Soon, the world will freeze over." She was caressing his dark, bloody locks of hair as she whispered this, and it felt so calming to have her do this to him. "Soon… I will disappear."
He opened her eyes and saw here staring at him. He knew it was going to end like this. With everyone dead. But as long as he had her he knew he could be happy.
But if she's gone too… he thought, biting his tongue.
"I'm a flower-girl that was created. This is not my true self," she explained.
"True self?"
She closed her large, blue eyes and gave him a nod of confirmation. "I can finally become it."
"Clare…" He muttered, holding her tighter, her nails raking down his bloody, clothed back.
"The world will close one time. That's why we have to part one time."
"What am I supposed to do?" He choked out, his nails breaking the cloth that stuck to her like a second skin. "I don't have anything left to protect."
"We were able to meet because the flower protected you. The flowers can bloom again because you protected me," she cried, blood sweeping from the cuts she made on him with her nails. She pushed his head closer to her clothed breast and he held on tightly, trying to get rid of the horrible feeling in the pit of his stomach. "That's why we can meet again when Paradise, the next world, is opened."
She felt her tears falling on his scalp and he would do anything to get rid of them. But he didn't have the energy to speak. Not after he had fought against him to survive.
However, not everyone made it.
"I'll always wait for you, Eli… Please, find me." She stayed still in his arms, his eyes snapping open to look at her tear full face. "And then, we'll have what we've been searching for, our Paradise."
She began to disappear as her body became seeds and he felt his heart stop and drop and he held onto the robe she was wearing, yelling out her name, "Clare!"
His mouth fell open and he bit his lower lip, his eyes watering. Chewing on his lip, he let his head bow in defeat, tears burning his eye sockets and he opened his mouth, letting an ear piercing cry passed his lips.
He grabbed the flower in his wolf mouth and began to walk towards the frozen lake in what was supposed to be 'Paradise'. Once he reached the frozen water, he fell on the ground, the flower next to him letting out a fragile, dead scent.
I'm sure there's no such thing as Paradise. There's nothing at the end of this world. No matter how far you go… the same path lies ahead of you. It just goes on and on.
But in spite of that, why am I so driven to keep walking like this even though I know that?
However, I can hear someone's voice.
It's telling me, "Search… for Paradise."
