The Son of Dionysus
A/N
Ok I'm dedicating this one to one of my friends. Gabriel. I hope this story is good! Happy Birthday Gabriel!
Gabriel's POV
I was sitting under a tree at a park in Eastlake, when all of a sudden-wait I'm getting ahead of my self. I should introduce my self first. Well, my name is Gabriel Martinez and I am a son of Dionysus, the Greek god of Wine.
And right now I'm sitting under a tree in the park, relaxing.
When suddenly my rest is interrupted by a sharp high pitched scream.
I sat up abruptly and looked around the park.
The scream came again.
I located the noise to be coming from the South, So I turned to my left and there I saw a girl-with black hair, wearing baggy jeans, a black t-shirt and a Mexico hat- running in my direction and chasing her were a herd? Nest? Well what ever you call a pack of Dracaenas, they were chasing her.
"Aaaaaaah!" I heard her scream again and speed up.
I quickly got up and ran towards the girl and the monsters. As I neared them I snapped my fingers and my magical sword that my father gave me-Ampelou, meaning Vine- "Get to safety!" I yelled at the girl as I passed by her and slashed at the nearest Dracaena, with a wail it exploded into golden dust.
I dodged the sword of another monster and rolled out of the way. I stabbed at another one as it tried to take my head of. I continued to fight, the wailing and golden dust surrounding me. I couldn't keep this up forever it's one of me against, well a lot of them.
I quickly backed up as they advanced on me. I only had one option left. I stuck my hand out, palm towards them, and fingers splayed, and closed my eyes. 'Dad please if you can hear me, let this work.' I prayed quickly. I opened my eyes and yelled two commands. Epithesi! Pieste!-Attack! Squeeze!- And just as I finished saying that, large vines sprouted from the ground and attacked the Dracaena.
They screamed and wailed as the vines wrapped them and began to squeeze them.
I watched silently as they shrieked in agony one last time, as they exploded into golden dust. As the vines retreated back into the ground I whispered a quick thank you to my dad.
I then walked over to the poor girl that was running from the monsters. She was hiding behind a tree with her mouth open in awe.
As I neared her I slowed my steps as I didn't want to scare her away.
"um, hey." I said lamely.
"Who are you? What are you?" she asked curiously furrowing her eyebrows and walking out from behind the tree.
"I-um-uh." I said nervously as I noticed her beautiful chocolate brown eyes, her thin shiny lips, and her high cheekbones. She may look feminine, but I could tell she was just as tough as me maybe more.
"My name's Amanda Darleen." she said holding out her hand.
I smiled at her and shook her hand. "Gabriel Martinez." I said
She laughed. "Nice name it suites you." she said smiling at me.
"Uh yeah, yours does too." I said nervously.
"Ok then, well thank you for saving me." she said patting my shoulder.
"Uh Your welcome." I said.
She then took out a black marker, grabbed my hand, and wrote something on my palm. "If you ever want to talk or hang out, here's my number." she said smiling lightly.
"Yeah ok cool." I told her. 'Maybe I would call her.' I thought to myself. As she giggled.
"Maybe we could be friends." she said patting my shoulder again. "Bye." she said walking away.
"Bye!" I yelled at her when she was a few feet away. She turned back and smiled at me, then she sprinted way.
I sighed 'Maybe I could be friends with a mortal. Maybe, just maybe.' I thought to myself as the sun began to set and I was in the dark heading home.
