A Vampire's Kiss
by Kat Taylor

Night falls, Annie laid in her bed. Holding a worn script in her hand, she recited her final project for Theater II. "Fourteen." She began. "That was the age I...turned." Sitting up as she countinued, "That was six years ago. So..now I'm twenty." She stopped only to resume once more. "I guess. Not that I've aged in a alive-sort-of-way." She took a deep breath in. "Two thousand, one hundred, and seventy-eight days. That's a little over six years." She began to get off of her bed and moved to her dresser mirror. "Six plus fourteen equals twenty. Right?" Chuckling she added. "Zombies aren't known for their math skills, but you know.. I've always loved numbers. They're complete in themselves, yet they fit neatly together with others. When you add them up...they're more than the sum of their parts!" She began to get excited, before looking a little bit less so. "I'd like to think of myself the same way. That I'm more than the sum of my parts." She sighed. "Some days I feel like I'm falling to pieces, then I remember that I litterally am...Falling to peices I mean, and that makes me laugh most days." She sat back onto her bed. "I keep the pieces that-" A thud came from her window. "Woah what was that?" She asked herself breaking out of character looking out the window to find Larry. "Larry?" She asked herself. Going she opened the door to her balcony, letting him in. "Hey Annie." He smiled walking in. "Larry! Why are you here...Why is your hair like that? What are you even wearing!" She exclaimed, taking a look at him. Larry place a hand on her cheek. "I'm a Vampire now Annie Bartlett." He whispered in her ear, as he went closer. A bright blush filled her cheeks. "L..Larry..W..What do you mean Vampire?" She stuttered out of flushed feelings. "I'm a Vampire, you should join me." He kissed her neck. "L..Larry! What on earth are you doing?" She exclaimed stepping back. Larry came forward, making her face the mirror. "You would look amazing as a vampire. I would miss your pretty dirty blonde mess on your head...Join me Annie." He said with a smile, extending his hand. Hestiantly, Annie took it. "H..How does one b..become a Vampire?" she asked, she was rather flushed by this point. Larry appearing in the night, climbing the tree to get to her balcony just to see her. It wasn't very..Larry like of him. "Mike is the one that will answer that for you." Larry responded. He took her hand and spun her around before bringing her into a hug. "I can bring you to him. If you like." She blushed more. "S..S..Sure...!" She stuttered. "I..I..I guess you can." Larry smiled, letting go of the embrace and going to door to the balcony. "In the morining I shall take you to him." He grinned. Annie nodded. "U..Uh sure." She responded. Walking out the door Larry disappeared, jumping into the tree off her balcony. She walked out the door and place her arms on the rails to her Balcony watching him leave. "Larry...I'll see you tomorrow!" She called out with a wave, Larry laughed and disappeared again, climbing over the fence in her back yard. She smiled and sighed lightly, as snow began to fall down. "I long to see you again Larry... My dramatic vampiric prince." She muttered, walking into her room shutting the balcony door. She walked to her bed and grabbed a pillow hugging it. "You give me butterflies Larry, don't you know I can't control myself when I'm near you?" she blushed brightly, putting the pillow to her face she squeeled. "I can't believe he came to my house!"
