Throughout the history of the wizarding world purebloods were undoubtedly the rulers of society. Through the way they acted to the way they dressed they were superior and it was something that was more important to them than family itself. The strive to be the best amongst your peers drives these people crazy with want and need for this feat that never seems to be managed. The desperation to be recognised in this vast society and to rise above the rest overpowers all else and to be the one with the greatest power and wealth is undeniable=y the most alluring thing in the world.
This elite society have forever thought they were superior due to their pure magical blood. Pure-blood supremacism is the belief that wizards and witches whose known ancestry is exclusively magical are inherently superior to wizards and witches who have traceable muggle ancestry. Proponents of this ideology typically regard Muggle-born wizards as impure and not worthy of possessing magical ability and often actively discriminate against them. The disgust and hatred of those beneath them led to a strict rule of marriage. No pureblood who rightfully believes in blood supremacism should ever mate with those below them. Thus arranged marriages began. Determined not to 'spoil' their pure blood parents would match their children based on status and wealth. The women were raised to be subservient and submissive while the males took on the traditional job of being provider for the family. It worked and did so for hundreds of years, until the retaliation began.
Children began to refuse and run away. Girls fell in love with muggle borns and the boys similarly decided for themselves their future and thus began the decline of purebloods. By 1940 the number of the families had reduced so dramatically drastic measures had to be taken. Girls were sent at the age of nine to a school called Societatis Academy where they were taught all about how to be the perfect pureblood lady and wife.
By 1980 this school was undoubtedly the most exclusive and privileged school the wizarding world had to offer. The girls were handpicked based on looks, family and attitude to only select the most worthy girls. The school was known for its undeniable beauty, the girls having been prepped from a young age to always appear your best. Once a year the school gave out tickets to all those who wanted to attend their annual ball to show case the stunning ladies to all those who matter.
Orla Beauchene was one of the lucky girls who at the age of eight was inspected and accepted into the aristocratic academy and for six years she was taught everything there was to know about being perfect. Now in her sixth year at the school she was known for being the most beautiful and talented young woman the school had seen for decades and was well known amongst the high class. Though rarely seen she was the most sought after witch in the wizarding community and she was now, at the age of fifteen ripe for betrothals. It was uncommon for the girls as young as Orla to be engaged however with high demand she was the ultimate jewel for any pureblood man.
