Alex's POV
She looked beautiful. In sleep her face was angelic. I have yet to see her awake. She had long black hair, a pale, clear complexion, and very long legs. What I'm still a man, am I not? I'm just not a human man. Would she stay away from me like most of the students at Webbster High? I wanted her to be near me. For her to be fascinated by me as I was for her.
Yet it would be dangerous for her to. I'm fantasizing over a girl I've never met before. I shake my head in amazement.
I had come here to see what the new student was like. She had been in bed already when I got here. Her room was an odd combination of girl and boy.
The walls were black, but splatter painted with neon colors. Pinks, yellows, greens, and blues were flashing on every wall. There was only a few pieces of furniture, but there were moving vans outside so it was possible that she was still unpacking.
All the sudden I hear a moan from the bed. "Harley? Harley? Where are you?" then she starts to sob.
I stare in horror. Weeping female. Sleeping weeping female. For some reason the sound makes my unbeating heart rip to shreds.
Wait. Did she just say Harley? There is more than one Harley in the world. Right? Absolutely. No way this innocent little angel could know one of the most powerful vampire of all time. Could she?
I sit on the edge of the bed and start to stroke her hair. After a moment her sobs reduce to hiccups and she sighs and presses her cheek into my palm. It fits perfectly.
I sigh knowing I must go. Her alarm clock would go off at midnight- I wonder why?- so I get off the bed and walk softly over to the window. I glance back at her one last time before I make my five story leap.
Her face seems troubled like she was trying to figure out a difficult puzzle. I turn away quickly before I decide to turn back and make her expression a peaceful one.
Schuyler's POV
BEEP...BEEP...BEEP... CRASH!
Damn alarm clock. I think as I throw it across the room. GRR. I sit up and swing my legs over the side of my bed. I shiver as I remember that my room has hard wood floor. I walk over to my dresser and pull out a pair of black skinny jeans and a long sleeved balck tight tight sweater. Then I put on my favorite shoes. Black Chucks.
After changing I walk over to my window which I had left open. It had sqeaked when I had tested it so I decided to be on the safe side and leave it open. Didn't want the parents to wake up do we?
I look down from the ledge and gulp. Five whole stories up. I put a determined face on and look at the giant elm thats maybe a foot away from me. I CAN DO THIS. I take a deep breath and jump.
I land in the middle of a branch and hold on for dear life. I sway for a second then gain my balance. I smile. Five years of dancing finally payed off. I tight rope walk to the trunk of the tree then gracefully jump down limb from limb. I land with an oof and take off running to the front gates. Mike, the gate guard, is already asleep. This is going perfectly. I climb over the rungs and drop to the ground. Free at last.
I had planned this perfectly. I couldn't help myself. I leaped in the air and spun. This was so awsome. I have always snuck out of my house since I was 13, but I always got an adrenilan rush. Now to explore the town.
I turn the corner that led into town. It was a pretty small town. I have no idea why my mom had wanted to live in a small town.
