A/N: Because there is only one page of Tobiume fic and that is just not right. As I was writing this I got the loathing song from "Wicked" stuck in my head ... hence the title. I take no credit for the bits from episode 237.

Reviews plz?

Tobiume says that she hates Haineko.

She does, in fact, hate Haineko. Quite a lot.

But it's a fun hatred, if that makes any sense, the kind that makes her smile when she senses the other spirit approaching, wondering which snippy comment Haineko will greet her with this time and what kind of retort she'll have to come up with. The kind that makes her look forward to the days when Haineko comes visiting.

The day Tobiume met Haineko (a day when Momo went to visit her friends in Squad Ten), the first words out of the cat-girl's mouth, besides "Hi, I'm Rangiku's zanpakuto, my name is Haineko," were some thinly-veiled insult about Tobiume's kimono.

Believe it or not, she was the first person ever to actually insult Tobiume like that.

And Tobiume glowered and shot right back, "Well, it's better than looking like a cosplayer."

Because even when they barely knew each other, Tobiume knew that Haineko, with her lazy posture and bold eyes, can take a little bitchiness. Not like Wabisuke or Hyourinmaru, who shut down unless she treads just right around them. Not like Momo, who will analyze and agonize over everything anyone says to her; who needs gentle words or else she starts to wilt away.

And Tobiume is not a gentle girl. There is not one person she's ever met whom she hasn't wanted to yell at least one nasty thing about or to. Maybe she's tired of holding them all back, of being careful and gentle and kind. She needs one person to see the unkind side of her, who won't be shocked by the mind hiding underneath her sweet-looking face.

Haineko not only sees, she does her level best to keep Tobiume's nasty side on the surface. It seems like they can't go five minutes together without one of them insulting the other, without even trying to.

And Tobiume is secure in the knowledge that nothing she says will ever completely wipe that confident, annoying smirk off of Haineko's face.

Instead of making her angry, remembering that always leaves Tobiume smiling herself.

(Privately, of course, where Haineko can't ask her what idiotic thing she's grinning about.)

So when the free zanpakuto are all huddled in their cave, waiting for someone to come and tell them where to go from here, Tobiume sidles to where Haineko is lounging and watching a group of male spirits.

Haineko casually announces, "Man, I hate guys who only think about fighting."

Tobiume just can't resist. "You're really not one to talk. You're just as dumb as them!" she answers sweetly.

Haineko whips around with a glare, spoiling for (ironically) a good long fight.

And right away, Tobiume feels a whole lot better.
