"God Lily, you really don't understand what you do to me."
Lily stared at an anxious James blankly, her face starting to grow red as she realised an audience was growing around them.
"For fuck's sake, I can't breathe when you're around, I can't think; my mind goes blank apart from thoughts of you. You are the only thing in my bloody head, I can't even sleep knowing you will never return my feelings for you," at this James looked desperately at Lily for her to say something. When she seemed unable to produce a sentence James continued to pour out his heart. "Please Lily, would you say something? Your silence is killing me. I love you Lily, I love your sparkling green eyes and your beautiful hair, I love the way your mouth curls into a smile; I love everything about you…..I would die for you Lily."
After looking at Lily, his chocolate coloured eyes pleading with her own emerald ones, he realised that he had said enough. James turned away and left the Griffindor common room, leaving a stunned Lily behind.
Wandering solitarily through the corridors hidden beneath his invisibility cloak, James discovered from overhearing various girls' conversations that Lily was up in her dormitory….crying.
