Disclaimer: Inuyasha and company aren't mine. They are the property of Rumiko Takahashi-sama.
Sorry this is short, but try as I might, I can't make this ficlet into anything bigger. At least not at this time.
Timing wise, this is the day after Komainu, and a few days after First Falls, so it's the same head wound on Miroku. Kagome returned to the past after meeting with the headmaster, and this is the next morning.
---
It had been a strange night. Kagome had returned after being gone only a day, and she had said little about why she had returned early. She had been very angry when she came through, but her mood quickly returned to its normal self, even after her news that she would be there for seven days was greeted with "Good, we're outta here early in the morning."
As first light greyed the horizon, they started to awake, one by one. Sango and Kagome cooked breakfast, while Kaede started to prepare herbs for a patient. As had become the case so often, Shippou knelt at the healer's side. Inuyasha sat in the doorway, trying to be apart from the domestic scene within, fretting about the lost time. And Miroku. Miroku slept on, his head still bandaged from a wound received a few days ago.
As they ate, his bowl cooled. As each of them finished preparing their effects for the next several days, the monk slept on. And as the sun reached a point nearly a hands width above the horizon, Inuyasha began to get very cranky.
"Feh! Someone wake him up, we've wasted enough time."
"Inuyasha! He's still hurt, if he needs his rest, let him rest."
"Inuyasha is right Kagome, we should try to wake him." Studying her perverse friend, Sango shook her head. He hasn't been himself, not since the other night.
Scowling from the entrance, Inuyasha muttered to himself. "Glad someone agrees with me."
"Sleeping this much isn't normal. The wound wasn't that bad." Kneeling at the monk's side, Sango lowered her head towards his. "Houshi-sama, wake up. You've missed breakfast." As she waited, Sango's brow furrowed in concern, listening to his breathing.
"Houshi-sama?" She reached out, putting her hand on his chest, giving him a gentle shake. The huntress felt her hand mold around the firm, muscular torso, trying to keep thoughts like his from her mind. Suddenly, his eyes flew open as he swatted aside her hand.
"HENTAI!" The bozou grinned at the huntress, his sparkling eyes silently laughing at her wide, green ones.
Not everyone else was so subtle. Shippou rolled along the floor, clutching his sides, while Kagome was taken over by a case of aggressive giggles. Keade's dry chuckle mixed with Inuyasha's smirk and snicker. But poor Sango just knelt there, frozen in time and space, blushing, her mouth open, staring at her hand, as she tried to think of a response.
"You. You." Pulling her hand from his, her face wavered between shock, anger and amazement. Part of her wanted to beat him without mercy, while the other part wanted to laugh with them despite her embarrassment. She settled for punching his chest, so as not to reopen his scalp wound, but hard enough to blow the wind from his chest. "I thought you were sick!"
"I am, Sango," the monk's smile widened as he studied her face ", I am."

Author's Notes:
This really has no effect on my story arc, it is just a nice, funny little scene. However, it is very much in the spirit Oh My, which has become, perversely enough, one of the most popular of my pieces.
That being said, remember, this is only a few days after the dream Miroku had in Forge. And a few days before the start of Hunter's Heart.
