disclaimer: I don't own SPN or any of its characters.

5x04. Set in the universe of The End but with no real spoilers. A short poem to go with Scorched Wings. Written from Jimmy's POV. Mainly about the relationship he had with the screwed version of Castiel and the irony of being a ghost housing an angel.

Woke Up One Day

I woke up one day
Mute and senseless.
Frozen by time, a circle endless.

You woke up one day
Deaf and blind.
Caged in oblivion, forever bind.

I didn't realize it but neither did you
The instinct that had shouted at us to get the fucking cue.

Apart we might live
Together we sure die
It mattered not it was an act of vengeance made
Or a debt of friendship paid.

If not for you, I was long ago meal.
If not for me, today you stood alone still.

I woke up one day
Pained with resent.
You woke up one day
Lost between past and present.

It was my turn to mutilate
And for you to endure
But deeper was my sorrow than hate
As I stood by your door.

It was my turn to guard
And for you to rest
And so true was my consent
As I knew it for the best.

I woke up one day
Incorporeal
And unreal.
You woke up one day
Abandoned
And stoned.

I hissed and you ignored
I hurt and was hurt, but you only giggled

I woke up one day
To find you no longer an angel
I woke up one day
To find you drowning in alcohol

I waited and waited and waited
Until you woke up
One day

And found me dead.
