Entirely unruffled, as though the world hadn't momentarily shifted orbit (as every other person in the room would be willing to swear under oath that it had), Haruhi sat down and said calmly, "Please be quiet now, Sempai."

Tamaki was. In fact, as he slumped into a chair beside Haruhi − apparently deep in thought, or possibly not thinking anything at all − and stared into the wall opposite, he did not utter a single sound for the rest of the evening.

A few hours later, Kaoru would have his hands full trying to console a dejected and heartbroken Hikaru. For the moment, however, he and his brother gaped in twin states of shock, mouths opening and closing soundlessly, like two identical (albeit differently colored) fish. Hunni was in a similar state, and he managed to go an entire minute without even thinking of cake. Mori was silent, as always, but his eyes had widened ever so slightly.

As for Kyoya, he wouldn't stop laughing silently to himself for an entire hour.

A/N: I wrote this a long time ago (around when chapter 60 of the manga came out, or even before, I can't really remember) but did not put it up for some reason. I found it again recently in some obscure corner of my computer and though "why not".
