Family. Now that's a word they didn't hear often. They never really had one, Velkin and Myra Winters. Their father, Vaughn, was abusive, beating his son and daughter every chance he got. They lived with the scars he gave them from lighters and thrown knives and the bruises from the belt. They put up with it, in hopes that it would someday make their father love them.
