Kids, this is the story of how I met your mother. You see, it was one of those situations where a guy sees a girl from across the bar, and falls in love with her then and there. Like in those old movies Aunt Lily and Uncle Marshall are always going on about.
In this story, however, that guy was not me, but your Uncle Ted. He spotted this girl, nudged me in the side and muttered, "Hey, Barney. Do you see that girl over there?"
I looked at said girl, and god she was beautiful. I'm sure I said something inappropriate to Ted, because, though I had no idea at the time, I had fallen absolutely in love with that woman. Though Ted went home with Robin that night, I won out in the end, because that girl was, wait for it... your mother.
