He should have known he wasn't any good at this parenting stuff. He'd never even had a pet before and now he was expected to take care of some half-pint terror who didn't know his own strength (that doorknob would never look the same again), his own volume (between him and Kenren he was going to be prematurely deaf and grey), or his own innocence (how the hell do you explain about death while living in heaven?!). Sometimes he really hated his aunt for dragging him into this golden eyed mess….
Chubby little fingers curled into his unconsciously, breaking his concentration once again. He glanced down, a tender smile on his lips as he brushed unruly bangs away from fluttering eyelashes, their ashen lengths shadowing sleepy eyes.
"Shhh…go back to sleep. I'll be here when you wake."
"Promise?" Goku murmured sleepily, curling up beside him closer.
Konzen smiled, "Promise."
