Mulder shook his head as he thought about the agent that was being assigned as his parter. All he knew was she was a woman, intelligent - had a degree in medicine and physics. A medical doctor with a hard science background. Dana Katherine Scully looked like a nightmare on paper. He just knew she was there to give the bosses an excuse to close down the X-files, to reign him in. He knew they valued his skills as a criminal profiler but his work on the paranormal was ridiculed. There was no way a doctor, a medical scientist was going to support what he did. Sighing he took his glasses off, he needed a break. There was only so much staring at a computer screen he could manage.
"Scully." He sighed. "Who did you tick off to get this detail?" He closed his eyes wondering how or if he even could get the woman he had met briefly, one time an eon ago to see the merit in what he did.

"Great. Just great." Dana stared at herself in the mirror above the sinks in the female washroom. She had barely got out of med school, barely even started at the FBI now the deputy director had paired her with a senior agent. Taking a deep breath she knew that she should be pleased. A junior agent now in her own section, using her science background. It should be her dream assignment. Only she was being paired with Spooky Mulder. Shaking her head she prayed she didn't slip up and call him by his nickname.

"Hey. No one here but the FBI's most unwanted." Mulder called as she walked into the basement office. "So, Scully. Who did you tick off to get stuck with this detail?" She couldn't help the half smile that crept on her lips as she looked around the office. Maybe, she thought. Just maybe this could work. Maybe being stuck with Spooky Mulder wouldn't be the worst thing after all.
