A/N: Oh my God, my first fanfic where it's not centred around Voldemort or Bellatrix…
Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter.

Family before anything.
It was not the official motto of the Black family. It was not Toujours Pur. But it was something Druella Black would tell her daughters every day. She would tell them at least once during the day, and again every night when she tucked them into bed, when they were younger.
Andromeda often wonders, now that she is with Ted and Dora, whether the Blacks were her real family, after all; because she never really understood the meaning until she started her new life with Ted. And she's thankful to her mother, now, because it's what she lives her life by.
It's what she told Dora, at least once during the day, and again every night when she tucked her into bed, when she was younger. And now, Dora is sixteen. But Andromeda still makes sure she goes through the same routine.
At least once in the day, and every night when she tucks her into bed.
Family before anything.
