"Hey is everything alright Conner?" a female Ranger asked her partner.
"Yeah, everything's fine. Don't worry Sakura" replied the male Ranger, not turning around.
The female Ranger walked up to her partner who was standing pretty close to the edge of the cliff facing the sea close to the Union Headquarters. The two top Rangers stayed silent for a little while, just watching the colours of the setting sun playing on the waves. The running purples, pinks and yellows across the waves made the cliff a beautiful and peaceful place to be at this time, especially in the middle of all of the chaos going on in the world as well as their lives.
"So what brought you out here when we have plenty to do back at Headquarters?" questioned the grey-eyed Ranger, sitting on the ground.
"I needed to think you know," replied the brown-eyed male Ranger, also plopping down to the ground.
"Yeah, I guess you need to adapt, don't you," whispered Sakura, staring at the ground.
"Hey, it's not your fault," stage-whispered Conner. "If it wasn't for the fact that I hadn't known until the last minute, then we would all be dead and no one would have been able to save us all."
"Are you saying that what happened doesn't matter and that you're a burden to us?" yelled Sakura getting up, her eyes blazing in anger.
"If I'm not now, then what do you call it?" responded the Ranger turning his eyes back to the waves and the sun sinking even lower into the sea making the colours darken into hues of blues and blacks.
"Just because you have to learn accommodate to the world as you know it to be now, doesn't mean you're a burden Mooner," commented the Umbreon-shifter, her anger vanishing into the coming night's breeze. "All you have to do is hold your head high and knock everyone else down a few pegs if they bother you. And if they don't stop then beat them to a pulp, no matter who they are or position they hold in this world."
"Are you telling me to beat the Legendries if they mock me?" smirked Conner, his eyes illuminating with a fighter's light for once since the incident, a few weeks back.
"Hell yeah," laughed the Shiny Umbreon shifter. "And if it comes to that then you call for me, I'll hear you and come running to help you because some of their butts handed to them on a silver platter once in a while."
"Thanks Moonlight, I really needed that," smiled Conner, getting up and hugging his Partner close to his chest. "Please don't ever change."
"I don't plan on changing anytime soon, Partner," replied Sakura softly. "And you're welcome, but it's getting darker now and I don't relish the others coming to get us."
Conner looked around that the darkening skies, forest and ocean. He smiled softly before letting Sakura go and lifting his head, eyes closed, to the appearing moon and stars and thanked Arceus for the miracle he performed.
"We can go now," stated Conner before turning his back on the cliff and walking back to Headquarters.
