Nobody knows if we can love someone too much. But the whole thing only happened because of how much Adrien Agreste loved his wife, Marinette.

From the day since the pair started dating in high school, and since they finally got married, they could never bear to spend a single day away from each other. Soon, the couple was blessed with a beautiful baby boy, Hugo. The Agreste family had never been happier than they were together as a family.

But alas, this happiness was not meant to last.

A year after their child was born, Marinette became sick. Adrien desperately tried the best doctors to heal his wife. The efforts were in vain.

And soon, much too soon, she passed away.

Adrien never let anyone else touch her. After the funeral, he buried her coffin himself in the family grave. After the mourning had passed, he sent his son to live with his maternal grandparents, where he could grow up without the negative atmosphere affecting him.

For ten years, Adrien was inconsolable. But after much pressure from his side of the family, he eventually remarried his childhood friend, ChloƩ Bourgeois.

But even though they spent the next decades of their lives together, Adrien never slept by her side. Even if ChloƩ tried to pressure him into sleeping beside her or tried to seduce him, he always rejected her advances.

Every night he walked out of their bedroom. And he only came back when the sun began to rise. There was no break in his behavior.

One morning, Adrien didn't come back. Nor the morning after. In fact, he never came back.

The police turned the house over, searching for any trace of him. They never got a clue.

They found him days later, after there was a report of a smell of rotten meat wafting throughout the house. What they discovered totally shocked the wits out of them.

Even though Marinette died decades ago, Adrien couldn't let her go.

Days after her funeral, he dug out her body from her resting place, and brought her to their home. He had built a secret room where he kept her body. Every night, he would slip into her bed, spending the night beside her for every day of his life. But that wasn't the worst part.

When the police tried to remove Adrien's body from the bed, they found that Marinette's dead, shriveled hands were locked around his body, embracing him. Never letting go.

Just like he wasn't ready to let her go.

A/N : The plot of this story doesn't exactly belong to me. The writers from whom i was inspired to write this oneshot are Ehud Lavski and Yael Nathan. Their stories are unexpected and with twist endings. i would recommend checking out their work :) Until then, Peace out!
