I jumped, thinking quickly.
"Grovyle! Jump!"
I heard my 'partner' jump after me. The darkness was almost too much to bear. I ignored it, however. We had a mission! And god damn, we're getting it done. In less than a second, we were surrounded. She couldn't hold it open for long. I grabbed my partner and jumped through, still holding onto them. We spiraled through the vortex. Something rushed past and I felt my grip start to loosen. "Wah!"
"I got you!"
"M-My hand's slipping!"
"No! Josh, hold on!"
"I-I can't!"
"No! Josh!"
