Tick Tock

Tick Tock life's like a clock. It goes on and on never seeming to end. Seconds, minutes, hours will pass but you barely see how you got to the later time.

Right now I live to here that ominous sound of the Tick Tock. Each time I hear it I know I'm closer to the end.

But I also dread each time it reaches that fateful hour when I am to leave me behind and step into the mask.

Tick Tock goes the clock endlessly and sometimes I scream at it to stop moving. It never listens, that damn clock.

You'd think I'd have gotten rid of it long ago but oh no, I can't do that. It gives me my sanity, something to chime my thoughts to. The simple lullaby of its mechanical tune soothing my very core. That's what you focus on when things are bad and you're lost in a world of pessimism. You think of time and how long until it all ends.

It's my only boss in Panem really.

When it tells me to sleep, I sleep.

When it tells me to wake, I wake.

When it tells me to eat, I eat.

When it tells me to bathe, I bathe.

When it tells me to leave, I leave. I go to them and think of the clock. As I'm forced upon these endless Capitol citizens, I picture that beautiful clock ticking away telling me when I may leave.

After seeing things no man should ever see you realise what's important in life.

If you have time on your side you'll survive.

If you waste it away on drugs and liquor you'll die.

If you spend it in an arena and it's been a few days you'll die. Unless you're me.

The arena is life.

The arena is death.

The arena is a clock.

How long will you last?

You don't need the odds in your favour; you need time in your favour.

Tick Tock I watch the clock. When night ends, day comes and then on and on, it never ends. Until time runs out but that could be a while.

If you watch the clock, it won't move. So you don't tempt fate, you don't wish death upon yourself else it won't come. You won't receive the blessing of the dead clock.

But will it ever end? Time goes on forever and seemingly so does my life.

One o'clock – Tick Tock

Two o'clock – I watch

Three o'clock – Tick Tock

Four o'clock – I wait

Five o'clock – Tick Tock

Six o'clock – I pray

Seven o'clock – Tick Tock

Eight o'clock – I remember

Nine o'clock – Tick Tock

Ten o'clock – I cry

Eleven o'clock – Tick Tock

Twelve o'clock – Until another day

Tick Tock it never stops.
