Emma and Manny woke up to the sound of their alarm. The night before was so awful they weren't even sure if they were going to go to school that day.
Sean and Jay were in a car accident, Jay was unconscious and unfortunately Sean was dead. But all Emma Nelson wanted to do, was to forget about it. So just like any average 16 year old girl would do every morning, she got out of bed, took a shower picked out an outfit that was appropriate for the weather and then went upstairs to eat breakfast. Manny basically did the same but she was a little behind. After Manny finished eating breakfast they went to school.
When they arrived everyone instantly went up to Emma, asking her if she was going to be ok. At least every 10 minutes in the day someone went up to Emma and asked her a bunch of questions. But she just couldn't handle it, all she wanted to do was forget about it, but people were making it worst by bringing it up every other minute. Unlike Emma, Manny wanted people to come up to her, to ask her how she was, but no one even bothered, and she wasn't going to take it for much longer.
'What's wrong with everyone, my boyfriend is in the hospital and people haven't even said one word to me, I bet no one has even noticed that I was here today Em." Manny said.
"Well Sean did die Manny, Jay is just unconscious. "
"Just unconscious Emma! He's not just unconscious!" Manny screamed.
"Sean is dead Manny! Dead! At least the person that you love is still somewhat alive. But Sean is dead, which means he's never coming back. So put your little selfish attitude away and think about Sean for once, not Jay. And think about how I might feel instead of just yourself, your not the only one that is hurting Manny, you seriously aren't! So get over yourself!" Emma yelled.
Emma walked away thinking that it was over, but it wasn't. Manny grabbed Emma's arm which caused Emma's books to fall and spread all across the floor.
"Why the hell did you do that Manny? What the fuck is wrong with you?" Emma screamed.
"What's wrong with me? … What's wrong with you? Don't you think that I know that I'm the only one that's not hurting? And how dare you call me selfish!" Manny then pushed Emma into the lockers.
"You bitch!" Emma screamed as she slapped Manny across the side of her face.
Emma and Manny were punching each other, and throwing each other into the lockers and by then everyone had gathered around in a huge circle and began to cheer them on.
"Girls!" Ms. Hatzilakos and Matt yelled as they tried to pull them apart.
"I can't believe Sean put up with you as his girlfriend so long, he's probably glad that he's dead so he doesn't have to see your ugly face anymore!" Manny screamed as Ms.Hatzilakos pulled her and as Matt pulled Emma.
"What did you say!" Emma yelled angrily.
"You heard me loud and clear."
"Well I'd rather be ugly, then have been pregnant and had an abortion at 14!
"You just had to shout out my business to everyone. Nobody knew except my parents, you, and your mom!"
"Well now basically the whole school knows, and besides…it's not really that hard to believe since you are the school's slut!"
"You are the last person…to ever call me that!" Manny started to run after Emma, but Ms. Hatzilakos had a tight grip on her.
"Hah! Yeah right! Didn't you just say that to Darcy last week! Just forget it Manny…you are and forever will be a slut…until the day you die."
"Well at least I'll be alive until I'm like 70 something, but once I get a hold of you, you'll drop dead in 2 seconds!
That was the end of their little discussion, after Manny basically threatened her, Manny was taken to the office with Ms. Hatzilakos, and Matt had to escort her down to the office a little while later so she could sit outside of the office and wait until Ms. Hatzilakos was finished talking to Manny so she could talk to her to.
