Once You've Flipped

The moment she saw him, and looked into his ice blue eyes,

she knew.

The moment he saw her running toward him,

he didn't know what to think or even do.

She was always behind him,

studying him closely, every step he took.

As for him, just looking at that big smile and mousy brown hair,

he violently shook.

She loved him with all her heart, until that day when her heart was shattered,

for she saw her gift to him, lying in the trashcan,

broken and scattered.

He said hurtful words that weren't really meant, but taken to heart,

her heart, now looking like a dying rose,

wilted and bent.

Only after that day did he realized how he really felt, his many feelings,

like a stack of miscellaneous cards, too late to be dealt.

Too late it was indeed, for she could no longer feel,

and the pain in her heart was to painful to even be real.

A few weeks went by where some, no, many things changed,

both inside and out,

and it's amazing how quickly people can find the things they don't need,

and the things they can't live without.

After many decisions and a relationship both fixed and ripped,

they both found their way back to each other,

and found that love can still survive even though you may have flipped.
