She watched as the TARDIS faded away. She knew she could change her mind, call him back, but she didn't. Though a part of her felt like it was dying, she just walked inside. She cried, like any heartbroken girl, but this was worse, because her heart had been breaking for a long time.
As the time went by, the feeling faded. She had her life without him, the hospital, and sometimes, even Jack. Her relationship with the handsome traveler meant more to her than almost anything. Sometimes she wondered if she had a choice, who she would pick.
But then that brought her back to that fateful day when she said she wouldn't go. And the pain that showed in his face when she said it. She knew that she'd never mean as much to him as Rose. She doubted anyone ever would. But knowing she'd meant anything to him, and then left him, hurt her almost as much.
But she then knew she couldn't go back. Her family needed her. Jack needed her. And most of all, she needed her. She needed her life without the Doctor. Because she knew he would move on, even if it hurt him terribly, and as any girl knows, it's better to leave before everything you had is gone.
