Max Guevara pulled the collar of her winter jacket closer to her face, it
was Christmas Eve in Seattle and it was biting cold. The streets were
crowded with late shoppers who forgot one person or another on their lists.
Max was out for another reason; she needed to find mistletoe. Her roommate
and friends were holding a huge Christmas party and she'd just gotten the
boot out the door till she returned with mistletoe. She had no clue why it
was so important to them but it was important to them so she went to get
some. Almost all the stores her friends had suggested to find it were
closed and she could only think of one way to get it; steal it. Every other
open store had some hanging up somewhere. She rushed into the heat of the
closest open store and spied some mistletoe right off. Max grabbed it when
no one was looked and rushed out the door and into a head on collision with
a man coming in the door. They both landed on the snowy sidewalk. The man
had spiky hair that looked brown in this light but was most likely dirty
blonde and Max could tell he was rather tall even though he was sprawled
out on the sidewalk. The man looked up at Max and his clear blue eyes met
her doe brown ones.
"Merry Christmas." He said and laughed, getting up. Max started laughing. The stranger, once standing up, offered his hand in helping her up. She took it and stood. He was a fair bit taller then her.
"I'm sorry."
"Logan Cale." He inserted his name.
"I'm sorry Logan Cale." Max re-stated. "And Merry Christmas to you too. I'm Max."
"Well Max you must have been in desperate need to get somewhere with your mistletoe the way you came barging out of there." Logan stated.
"Yeah, I'm really sorry about that."
"No problem, I got to meet you which makes up for it." Max blushed.
"I'm actually getting back to a Christmas party." Max admitted.
"Oh, I won't keep you then." Logan said slightly disappointed, turning to walk away.
"Logan!" Max called. He stopped and turned towards her. Max ran up to him and held the mistletoe over his head. "Merry Christmas." She said and kissed him, and then she turned and walked in the direction of her apartment leaving a befuddled man standing in her wake.
