Story: Christmas Morning

No matter how many times he did it to her, she couldn't possibly fall out of love with him. He would always be there for her, and she knew that, but it didn't make the stinging hurt any less. The fact was, he would have to miss Christmas with her again this year, and the fact was he had missed the past five Christmases with her.

He never failed to make sure Matsumoto delivered his present for her, but she didn't care for any of that. The only thing she really wanted for Christmas was Hitsugaya, and despite all the pain she experienced, the notion of leaving Hitsugaya was still an impossible to reach.

She remembered his word clearly, as if he said them yesterday.

"…Momo…I'm sorry…I really am, but I have to go on a mission soon." Without even mentioning the day, Momo could already tell by the expression on his face what he meant. It must've pained him to be without her too.

On Christmas morning, the bright sunlight glazed over the cold earth, and the feeling of joy could be felt just about anywhere in Seireitei, except from the 5th division. Everyone had the day off to do whatever it was they wanted to do, but Momo stayed behind to do the paperwork.

She sat there, with the a beaten hope that maybe, just maybe, Hitsugaya would open the door and greet her with the same breathtaking smile he had every time he saw her, but to no avail, it never happened, and so her morning was comprised of paperwork to do. She had plans to visit everyone and deliver her presents for them.

Soon after, the doors were pushed open and her once destroyed hope was revived again, only to be pulverized by Matsumoto.

"Good-Morning, Momo-chan! And Merry Christmas!" She paused before running up to her, giving her a big hug, and a wrapped up present. "That one's from me, and there's the one from Taicho. I'm sure you'll love it."

She smiled gratefully, but sighed. "He can give it to me when he returns, and thank you, Matsumoto-san."

"Oh come on. Don't you want to even see it?"

"I'll see it when he returns, Matsumoto-san."

"Well, fine, then I'll just leave it in here."

"Ok, thanks."

She shoved in a large wrapped box, taller than the couch, but not quite as wide. The young lieutenant could only wonder what was in the box. Matsumoto left with a sly smile, and skipped off towards the bar, where a party was going to be held.

Curiosity continued edge Momo towards the box. She couldn't imagine Hitsugaya getting anything that big for her, so she shoved it aside, but the more she tried, the more she found herself unable to do so. Finally, to satisfy the hunger of her curiosity, she decided to open it up.

BAM

In the instant she opened the box, it fell over, or rather crashed into her, pushing her towards the ground. She opened her eyes and found a white-haired boy over her, with an undeniably sexy smirk.

She could only shiver under his hold, his charming smile, and his dazzling look. Swiftly kissed upon her lips, and then to her neck, the captain murmured breathlessly. "I missed you so much…Momo.

He took a big whiff of her scent, obviously intoxicated by the delicious smell. The shocked girl lay beneath her, and tried to remain calm, but her betraying emotions sent tears down her cheeks.

"I'm really sorry, Mo-"

"It doesn't matter…you're here now, and that's the only thing that matters. Merry Christmas, Hitsugaya-kun"

"…Merry Christmas, Bedwetter." He gave her a warm smile.

'No. You're here with me now, and that's all that matters. Merry Christmas, Momo.' He thought to himself before diving in for another kiss.
