Written on the feelings of Sango towards her beloved little brother.
My dearest little brother,
My wonderful Kohaku,
Just close your eyes and be still with dreams,
And let me lie by you.
My dearest little brother,
Just ignore all the pain that's there.
Ignore our bodies stained with blood,
Forget all things that are unfair.
Brother, don't think of father,
For now he's in a better place,
Don't blame these losses on yourself,
Just dry those tears from your wounded face.
Brother, don't say it's your fault.
For that couldn't be further from the truth,
Brother, just close your tired eyes,
And let sweet dreams stay with you.
Just dream of the better times
When we'd all be together,
Father, Mother, family & village,
That's how we'll stay forever.
Can you smell the sweet meadow fields?
Or feel the crisp breeze against your skin?
Brother, isn't it wonderful,
This dream you lie within?
My dearest little brother,
Please stay happy always,
Be happy in these dreams of yours,
For the rest of your eternal days.
For as you lie there beside me,
Arrows embedded at your side,
Eyes gently closed and breathing ceased,
That's when I realized.
Little brother, I can't believe it,
Your young life has come and gone,
But I know inside those sweetest dreams,
Will still strongly carry on.
And so, my dearest little brother,
My wonderful Kohaku,
Be still with dreams lying within your heart,
And then one day I will dream with you.
Author's Notes:
My fourth Inu Yasha poem, and my second on Sango. That was such a heartbreaking scene in the anime... I cried! Just to let you know, I am only assuming that Sango's younger brother's name was Kohaku. In one of the episodes I had, the fansub clearly stated it was Gohaku, but since the majority of the episodes went with Kohaku, I decided to use that name for this poem instead. I really hope you liked it! Thank you so very much for reading!! ^__^
