Prologue:
Duo stared at Heero's back. It was twitching. The green tank top Heero wore shuddered slightly and Duo watched as Heero's muscles tensed. Heero shrugged his shoulders in attempts to ward off the tingling feeling on his back, but it just wouldn't go away. Irritation flooded Heero's senses as he continued to feel something on his back. He slung his right arm over his left shoulder and tried to brush off the annoying feeling. Duo's eyes widened in horror as he saw his partner's skin begin to crawl beneath his shirt. Bonze skin shivered and shook as something seemed to be moving underneath Heero's skin. Heero fell to his knees as something started to push against his skin. The perfect soldier wrapped both arms around himself. The thing inside him finally broke free from it's confines in Heero's body and Duo could only watch as on either sides of his partner's shoulder blades something that looked like a large bone ripped through Heero's shirt. Heero could no longer hold himself up and he fell forward on his hands and knees. Clinching his eyes shut the Gundam pilot could feel blood trailing down his arms, but what sent him over the edge was the sound of his own flesh tearing. He had been tortured before, but this as worse than anything he had ever experienced. He felt like his spine was trying to escape his body and the skin ripping from his back only added to the vivid image of his own body being torn apart.
Duo could do nothing to help Heero he could only stare in horror as two large objects grew from Heero's back. The blue-eyed boy's shirt had long been torn and lay forgotten below his shaking body. Shallow breaths escaped swollen lips and the objects pushing out of Heero's back did not stop their escape. Sticky blood covered the two objects and Duo found that they were increasing in width as it continued its decent. Duo covered his mouth in amazement as he realized what the objects were. Beneath the blood the outline of feathers could be seen attached to the large bone.
"Wings," Duo breathed, but Heero didn't hear him as he clutched the ground below him in agony. The wings finally stopped coming out of Heero's back and the two large blood covered appendages arched high into the air.
