Short poem inspered by The Amber Spyglass by Phillip Pullman. Enjoy!

Your smell lingers

Phantom footsteps haunt my mind

Your silhouette darkens my wall

I feel your feathery touch

Only to realize I gave you up

Your voice whispers in my ear

Languishing me with soft spoken words of nothingness

But your hot moist breath is only a reverie

I left you but you just won't go away

I feel myself drowning

Pulled under by the massive waves of your emotion

Seconds pass then it's gone

I ran but you just can't stay away

Your imaginary hands unravel me

Soft lips brush mine like rose hips

Your ethereal presence tormenting my scenes

I gave you up to save the world

Why can't I let you go?
