Wolfsbane
A Remus Poem
For Mum, who'll never read it.
By Galatyn Renner
Every full moon night
A wolf cries at Hogwarts
And wonders what might, might have been.
If he had not walked that night
Full moon night, alone
The wolf might not have been.
But still they let him come to Hogwarts
And so he hides three nights a month
Wishing he were dead.
And he would be, without his friends
But they don't know
And he can't tell.
So he lies, moon after month, to them
Hating himself for what he is and what he does
But they find out.
And they forgive him,
Join him, saved him
In every way a person can be saved.
Now, almost free, he has come back
But they are gone
And the wolf howls alone again.
