Midnight Conversation

Author notes: Set soon after X3. I do not own anything. If I did Rogue would not have had taken the cure, Scott would not have died, and Gambit would have been in the first three movies.

On the grounds of Xavier's there is never a dull moment, but after midnight when all the good mutant boys and girls are there are those few who never really follow the rules. One such mutant was outside in the woods getting some night air.

'I cannot stop the dreams, they are really getting worst recently' rogue thought

"Was it one of mine, my dear".

"Ya, but not one of the bad ones, I saw your family. Your mom and baby sis, oh I miss them so. I mean you missed them Erik"

"Yes my dear, I do every day. It was very sorrowfully day, the day I lost them."

"Your mother loved you so much. You were such a sweet boy to her. Your memories of her are… so sweet, my own mother kicked me out of the house. When I become the devil" Rogue said ending in a sneer. Remember the very cold words her mother throw at her as her father slammed the door in her face.

"Oh, my dear you are so much better than those humans"

"Thank you, Erik. I am I am almost over it. It has been almost five year, but they were my parent. And, I hate to say it but yes I am better than them. They know nothing but their own hate."

"Their only redeeming quality is that they had you my dear."

"Thank you. You know they don't want me talking to you anymore." Rogue stated "Or any of them" she add more silently.

"I would not harm you, my dear. I know you have been having a hard time even before the cure failed. About the time Charles died."

"Those humans should have known that the cure only lasted a short time on mutant above a class three" stated Rogue angrily while shaking her head.

"Those human will pay for making that cure"

"I don't want them to pay Erik, well maybe a little" she said as she smirked. "I wanted control, control over life, control over the dreams, and control over my own skin."

"I know, my dear. You, Logan and Artie have made some good progress."

"I know it just so slow. And It was your suggest to Artie use so I can feel my skin on the offsetting."

For some time Rogue was quite. She was walking back through the trees to the lake. She looked down into the water and saw herself. To her she saw a young woman who was physical strong (Logan won't have it any other way), she was interesting looking not deeply beautifully but she actually liked her hair streaks, but also a girl that was alone.

"Marie is that you."

"Ya, Logan."

"Kid, you know Or' wants everyone in the house after one with the all the things going on now."

"Fine than I won't tell her I found you out here."

"Kid you know that not what meant. And who were you talking to out here."

"I don't know what you are talking about Logan."

Logan turned to her making her look at him "Marie I told you to tell me if the voices or the dreams got too bad. I want to help you."

"I know Logan I can handle it. Why did you come out here anyway?"

"I notice you were quitter at dinner than normal I came to check on you and find you talking to yourself and looking into the lake."

Rogue looked down into the lake again "Logan what do you see?"

"Marie, I … I see strong girl that can handle most anything thrown her way". After a pause Logan added "Marie is something you want to tell me."

"I am just tired let's go to bed."

"Sure, kid. Remember Storm friend from New Orleans is coming tomorrow."

As the two friends walked into the Mansion a shadow from up wind walked to the lake. Magneto had been visiting his old friend grave when he came across a very interesting conversation. 'My dear, you are worth more than words can see.' As Magneto looked in to the lake he stated "My dear I see a young woman who thinks she is alone, but you are not my dear."
