Title: Forever Longing
Author: my friend, Snez R.
Disclaimer: Not mine. Belongs to Joss, ME, and all those other important ppl… :P
Summary: B/S, short and fluffy-ish. Angel dies, leaving Buffy grief-stricken.
Rating: PG
Author's Note: This wasn't written by me but by one of my best friends, Snez. She's B/A to the core but wrote me some B/S for my b-day (which was like way back in December). And since she doesn't have a ff.n account, I decided to post it for her. The story may seem kinda wrong, because, well, Angel just died, but still. We all know Buffy doesn't *really* care about him anyway. :P And, um, yeah. A little B/A. But mainly B/S. Takes place somewhere in season six, timelines are a little murky. But, enjoy.

Forever Longing
Buffy ran through the graveyard, tears streaming down her face. 'Angel's dead' kept repeating itself over and over again in her mind. She zig-zagged through the tombstones, and finally slowed to a stop in front of a stone, angel statue. She took a few deep breaths to calm herself, and closed her eyes, remembering the meeting that they had a couple of weeks ago.
//"Buffy, I'll never leave you. You know that if you need anything, and I mean anything, you can always come to me. I'll help you if you need to cope," Angel whispered, placing a kiss to her forehead.
She smiled and nodded. "I love you," Buffy whispered.
"I love you too. Forever."//
"Buffy!" Someone shouted her name. She snapped open her eyes and glanced up. Spike was coming toward her, a worried expression on his face.
Buffy nearly smiled. Spike seemed to always be there when she was miserable.
"Buffy, are you okay? You just ran out of the house. The Scoobies and Lil Bit are all worried… I was worried," he said.
"I wanted to be alone," she replied.
"Well, yeah, but you're going out blinded with tears and pain. I can't afford to have you get killed." He placed a hand on her shoulder, waiting for her to flinch away, but she didn't.
"Why do you care?" she asked softly.
He sighed, even though his lungs were dead. "Buffy, you already know the answer to that."
Buffy looked into his eyes, and found love, understanding, and anger all there. The love- that was for her, the understanding was for what she'd been through and was still going through, and the anger was for her being in so much pain over Angel's death.
"I do know," she stated.
Spike nodded. "I understand, bout you wantin' to be left alone and all, but ask yourself this, Buffy. Would Angel want you to mourn over his death for the rest of your life?" he asked.
She lowered her head to the ground, unable to meet his eyes. Maybe she had been too hard on Spike. His not having a soul scared her, but now she could see that maybe he could love without one.
"No, he wouldn't," Buffy whispered. She felt two cool fingers lifting her face, and, yet again, she was staring into those icy blue eyes of his.
Spike smiled at her, saying, "That's my girl." He leaned down and gave her a kiss on the cheek. But that one touch of her soft skin wasn't enough for him, and he continued, kissing along her jawbone, until he finally reached her mouth. Buffy stood still for a second- shocked, but not disgusted. Definitely not disgusted. Buffy responded, kissing him back, a soft, sweet kiss. Spike pulled back first so she could breathe, and he stared at her.
"Buffy, I know you just lost Angel, but I love you too, pet, and I want to give us a shot. Will you let that happen?" he pleaded. She stared at him. Spike was right. She closed her eyes, and heard Angel's words again- "I'll never leave you." She knew it was true. But Buffy still had room in her heart for someone else.
She smiled at Spike, and took his arm and placed it around her waist.
"Hold me," Buffy whispered.
And he did.
Forever.
