"Charming, if you drop that box, I will end you." Regina snapped, losing her patience.
Emma sighs. She thought putting Regina to work (or supervise as her new wife put it) with her dad would keep things running smoothly, but her plan seemed to make things worse. She glanced at her mother, who was humming to herself while packing the pots and pans, and sighed again.
"I'm going to make sure no fireballs or swords appear," Emma said.
Snow nodded her head, and continued to hum and pack. She wasn't worry for either her husband or Regina. She knew that neither of them would hurt each other, since hurting each other hurts Emma.
Emma walked into the entryway just as her father was going to look into one of her personal boxes.
"Don't open that!" Emma said, quickly snatching the box from him. She turned and went to sit at the bottom of the stairs with the box.
"Emma, what could is so important in that box that you had to snatch it out of my hands?" Charming asked.
"Uh..."Emma stuttered
"Emma's toys." Regina answered for her, walking back in.
"Regina!" Emma exclaims "I told you I'll tell my parents when I'm ready about that!"
Regina glanced at Charming, smirking at his face, and whispered "I think you should explain now, your father looks redder then one of my apples."
Emma looks at her father, realizing what toys her father thought about. "Oh god, Gina, I can't explain this to him when he is thinking like that!"
Regina quietly asked "Do you want me to tell him the short version you gave me?"
"Yeah, I'll tell him more when certain images aren't running through his head. Thanks, babe!" Emma smiled kissing Regina on the cheek.
"Don't call me that!" Regina snapped back, although the blush on her cheeks gave her true feelings away. She took the box from Emma, and sent her back into the kitchen with her mother. She looked at Charming and nodded her head for him to follow her into the study.
"Regina, I know you and my daughter are married, so you are doing...umm...things together, but there are somethings a father doesn't need to know and..."Charming rambled.
"Charming, shut up and listen for once," Regina sniped "First, you are right, what goes on between Emma and I in our bedroom is something you don't need to know. Second, when I said Emma's toys, I didn't mean those types of toys."
Charming instantly relaxed. "Wait, so there are children's toys in that box? Why wouldn't Emma want me to see?" he asked.
Regina opened the box on her desk, and waved him to come look. Inside the box was a stuffed duck and a stuffed baby duck, darkened with dust over the years. One of the eyes on the baby duck were loose, and you could see uneven stichings on the side of the big one, like someone rushed to get it done quickly rather then with care. They were surround by bubble wrap so they wouldn' move around in the box.
"Emma's first family gave her these when they adopted her. They're the only things she kept from them." Regina quietly said.
Charming stared at the duck, feeling remorse over the childhood his daughter was forced to endure. He wanted to talk to Emma about this, but he knew she would come when she was ready.
After a few minutes, Regina closed the box again, and gives it to Charming to put in the truck. She started to walk out of her study, pausing at the doorway to glance back at him.
"Oh, and Charming, if I catch you snooping around either Emma or my boxes again, I'll introduce you to the toys Emma and I like to share" Regina smirks, and walks out, leaving a mortified Charming to follow her out.
