"Hey best friend?"

"What now, Makara?"

"Rainbows are some miraculous shit."

Karkat rolled his eyes at the nonsensical observation. "Whatever the fuck you say." He stared up at ceiling, thinking about rainbows. They were a rare occurrence in Alternia, the dying planet hardly ever produced such miracules as Gamzee would say. The only rainbows that Karkat had seen were the ones in books or romcoms. "Makara?"

"What's up my wicked red blooded brother?"

"Damn it, Gamzee don't say it out loud." Karkat fumed irritably for a few moments then returned to what he was trying to say before."One day...one day I am going to see a rainbow, We both will. And everything will be ok, everything will go back to the way it should be. The Game will be over and we will claim that damned prize." He raised his hand towards the ceiling and clenched it into a fist. "I swear that we will."

Gamzee watched his moirail's out of character behavior and smiled goofily at him. "I'm going to hold you to that, best friend."

-time skip-

Gamzee finished painting the last color on to the rainbow. He giggled happily. "I told you I'd hold you to it, Karbro!" Gamzee grinned and wiped some of the color he used onto his face. "Does this make you happy, bro? You wanted to all up and see a rainbow, motherfucker. And now you're motherfuckin' part of one, to make it even better all of our friends are in it!" He took a step back to admire the bloody painting on the wall of his respiteblock.

Gamzee laughed. "And some day we'll find it the rainbow connection. The lovers. The dreamers. And me, HONK."
