Disclaimer: I do not own Marvel or Thor.

Authors note: This was written in my English class as a warm-up exercise, and I liked it enough to post here. It's not my best, but I believe it's still worthy of my profile. Loki demands reviews! (just like he demands that you kneel).

Loki had never been especially caring, but he had changed considerably. Thor had noticed this not much after the younger's twelfth -in human years- birthday.

Where Loki had once been quiet and shy he was now cold and stoic. He held his head even higher and took to looking down his nose at everyone he deemed below him- which, admittedly, was almost all of the palace's residents.

In Thor's sun-filled, arguably ignorant mind, Loki had no reason to act this way. As a prince of Asgard, he was treated with the upmost respect, was given what many could only dream of, and had a loving family.

But to Loki he was the outcast. He was the moon hiding the sun that was Thor; an inferior that would always be just that- lesser. He was looked at differently, treated differently, received differently. And so when Thor finally approached him one morning in his chambers to ask the question Loki knew was coming, he had an answer waiting on his tongue.

"Brother what has changed? Why do you act this way to our people?"

"Would you expect someone who has never touched a sword to defeat you in battle?"

Confused, Thor shook his head. "Well of course not, brother. That could not be done."

"Then how can you except someone who has never been shown kindness to be kind to others?"
