I made this out of pure boredom last night and frankly I think there should be more SPN/Hobbit stories out there! I might continue this on a later date, R&R are welcome!
Summary: Melanie Parker, has been a hunter since the age of twelve and is used to the routine of the job. But as she was working a case with the infamous Winchesters, she's thrown into middle Earth. She ends up in Shire with the whole crew and is forced to help them, in exchange, Gandalf promises he can return her to her land. But when things get complicated, can she keep her feelings separate from the job and will she even want to return when it's all over?
Melanie Parker woke up in a haze of confusion. The last thing she remembered was her gun pointed at a witch with both Winchesters next to her, then everything went black. She opened her eyes slowly, her vision slowly coming back to her; like when you wake up from a deep sleep.
"It's okay, love. You're safe now." a voice said softly. When she had fully regained her sight she saw a man in medieval-esque clothes with long brown hair and brown eyes. Her eyes got huge as she sat up and saw he was a dwarf because he wasn't even over 4"8.
"Who are you?!" she cried. This didn't make any sense, where was she? She had never been to a place like this before, everything was off somehow. It didn't feel like Earth. When the man took a step back and didn't answer, she stood up and reached for her gun. "WHO ARE YOU?!" she shouted at him again. She aimed her gun at his head and he tensed up.
"I'm Kili. Who are you?" he said, calmly. She lowered her gun and put it back in it's holster. Kili took a sigh of relief. "I swear, I'm not going to hurt you." he added, smiling at her.
"I'm Melanie Parker," she said, still a little frazzled. She looked down at the man that was much shorter than her 5"5 frame. "where am I?" she asked him, her eyes darting to the trees around her.
"Well you're in The Shire, of course!" Kili said cheerily. Melanie's eyes almost popped out of her head. He saw her confused expression and then was curious himself. "If you haven't been here…where are you from?" he asked her.
"I'm from New York but I was working a job in Wisconsin…" Melanie started to explain but he looked as confused as she was.
"I'm sorry but New…York? I have never heard of such a land! But maybe it would explain your strange clothes." he said gesturing to her skinny jeans, shirt, leather jacket and high heeled boots. "But never mind that; you look weak from the journey you had coming here. I have some friends here, we can help you recover." Kili said, trying to be helpful.
"I don't need anyone's help. I'm a hunter, I work alone…well at least 99% of the time I do." she said checking her boot to make sure her knife was still there, which it was. She stood back up again and ran her fingers through her wavy brown hair, her mind racing.
"Please, Melanie. Come inside, you won't survive long out there. You obviously aren't from this land and the beasts out there will kill you in an instant. I think we should consult Gandalf and see what we should do." he said as he started to walk towards a small looking house. It was made out of a tree and it was very unique looking. Melanie glanced at the fading sun and the dark woods around her, despite what her brain said; she followed her gut and went towards the house and hoped that this Gandalf person, whoever he was…could help her find her way back home.
