River and Cameron

A/N The time lines are most likely out of whack, but with all the time travel who knows. The idea from this story comes from the last episode season two TTSCC; when it appeared that John and Cameron were going to kiss.

She looked at the girl standing in front of her, big brown eyes, long brown hair, and a slender almost waifish stature. It was as if she was looking at her reflection in a mirror.

River Tan paused before speaking. "Who are you and why do you look like me?"

The identical girl spoke back to her. "Cameron."

River felt the hairs on the back of her neck rising. Some thing was off. "Why do you look like me?"

Cameron studied the girl before her before replying. "I sense you may consider me dangerous. I am not."

With more force River asked again. "Why do you look like me?"

Without breaking eye contact Cameron replied. "Because I am you."

"How are you me?"

"I was designed after you. You are the perfect killing machine. No force in the Verse can stop you."

"Designed after me? How so?"

"I am a robot. When they designed me they took all the data the alliance had collected from you. I am you in every sense of the word. But you can do one thing I can't"

River sensed the robot was telling the truth. "What can I do that you can't?"

One word escaped the robots lips. "Love."

"Why do you need to love robot?"

I am protecting a boy named John Connor. I sense he is falling in love with me. I can't love him back, but you can."

"How do you know I will love him or he will love me?"

"Because you are me River and you can protect him. We are going to change time and realities, you'll be happy with him."

Cameron activated the device she had in her hand and streaks of blue lightning appeared around River and she was gone.

For what seemed like eternity Cameron stared at the spot where River once stood. She lied to River. She did love John Connor. The emotions had started slowly, probably when she learned how to dance ballet. She now understood beauty and gracefulness; slowly more and more emotions took her over. She realized that she was now human in every way except for her metal frame. John deserved to love a human so she got him one. The one she was designed after.
